All right, here comes the mandatory disclosure “stuff.” You know, the part of my blog where I sound like the person at the end of commercials speaking a million miles per hour. No this drink won’t really give you wings. You are not a stunt driver. Please don’t try this at home. Oh, and a personal favorite for those, like me, constantly trying to lose a little weight: Results not typical. But wait, there’s more! Although these disclosures are mandatory, I’d still have them in place even if they weren’t. They are nothing more than being honest and open with my readers and hopefully building trust. I like to think we’re in a relationship here and well, we all know communication and honesty are key, so here it goes.
Affiliate Links
When I visit affiliate links on other blogs, it’s a feel good moment for me. Like a combination of the spirit of giving and the joy of buying, they are a help you, help me kinda thing. Affiliate links are nothing more than: if I tell you about a product or service and how great my experience was with it and you go buy it, well, I earn a commission. I use affiliate marketing on my Website in the form of affiliate links and ads/banners. If I mention something in a post with an affiliate link, I will tell you at the beginning of the post. Now, if you purchase items through these links I will earn a commission. You will not pay extra when purchasing through these links, but you will be doing me a great favor by helping me create even more magical moments for my family. This isn’t some get rich quick scheme, usually it’s a very small percentage, but it serves as a little extra and gives me a nice “thank you for letting me know about this!” So, thank you!
Sponsored Posts
Occasionally, companies reach out to me with their products, services, or an offer of payment for reviewing their product. Much like posts containing affiliate links, posts in which I have been compensated for will disclose such at the beginning of the post and often times I will hold corresponding giveaways to pass the product along to you. Regardless of compensation, I will only offer an honest opinion and experience with my reviews. Like it or love it, I will let you know or I will go back to the age old saying of: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
