Southern Colorado Family Vacation Destination: Royal Gorge Cabins

July 13, 2018 By //  by Lauren 7 Comments

Family Vacations and Adventures Don’t Last Long

You always hear the saying, “Life is a highway,” but I guess I never truly stopped to think just how much time we really spend in the fast lane. Then I hit the brakes hard when I recently heard someone say we only have 18 summers with our kids. 18! Factor in sports, camps, & teenage jobs and that number is likely even less.

With that sobering fact, we’ve really started focusing on more memory making moments together as a family. There are so many factors that make family travel seem a bit daunting, but those precious years are too valuable to waste for our memories and theirs.

The Royal Gorge Cabins or Echo Canyon Glamping Tents make the perfect base camp for your Southern Colorado family vacation.

Colorado Family Vacations

We are blessed with beautiful Colorado as the backdrop for many of our family adventures. It’s truly hard to find a spot without great scenery or entertainment, but our last trip boasted both of those things, plus affordable, luxury accommodations and incredible people.

Canon City, Colorado

Canon City is conveniently located off of Highway 50, only about an hour south of Colorado Springs. It’s a historically rich town full of many activities and adventures.

As with any vacation, where to call “home” is one of the first details to plan. The Royal Gorge Cabins offered the perfect space. Big enough we all could have a little room, but not too big where we  wouldn’t all come together. A place where we found many family conveniences, but with the luxury of a resort and the warmth of a home.

Have you ever met someone and instantly felt like you’ve known them forever? Like you were meant to meet? One step inside your personal luxury cabin and you’ll instantly be overcome with the feeling that this is where you’re meant to be.

It’s All in the Details

While the photos showcase incredible details like the double-sided fireplace, huge walk-in shower and lush, comfortable beds, what they don’t show are the amazing people behind each luxurious stay. From check-in to check-out and every memorable moment in between, you’ll find smiling, friendly employees eager to assist. They’re also full of local knowledge and great ideas to make your trip extra special.

I also adore that this location doesn’t just work perfectly for a family vacation, but a wide array of occasions. The Royal Gorge Cabins are great for a romantic weekend away or even a group or family reunion. The set-up is perfect for hosting a wide variety of adventures making it ideal for your next trip no matter the reason.

Adventure is Everywhere

Great views, incredible accommodations and more adventure-filled moments than you can fit into one trip make the Royal Gorge Cabins and Canon City a perfect Colorado family vacation destination.

Keep an eye out for Canon City’s family friendly activities and attractions:
