4 Perfect Gifts For Mom – Now & Anytime
Every year family and friends ask me what I want for Christmas and every year it’s hard for me to come up with something. As a busy mom, it’s not often I really focus on my needs and wants over those of my family and while I’m busy gathering ideas for them, I forget to think about ideas for me. I’m sure I’m not the only one, so instead of just creating a list of a few items to help out those close to me, I thought I’d make a Busy-Mom Gift Guide to help others as well. Hopefully you’ll find something on this list for the tough-to-shop for moms in your life. (You also have the chance to win one!)
1. A Planner
While I realize that everything is digital now, I still absolutely love having a paper planner. It may all be in my phone and on my computer too, but there is nothing like opening the pages of a planner and planning your month, weeks, meals, events, etc. I need it. I also need one that has the room to write family schedules, appointments, business/blog stuff, goals… you name it, but that also fits in my bag or purse, so I’m pretty picky on which I choose. This year I was sent a couple of samples from Momma’s Little Helper Day Planners and they are great! There are two different styles with slightly different formats depending on your planning preference. Right now, I’m debating on using one for everything, or since they are the perfect size and under $20, using one for family stuff and one for business. The Damask style is my favorite, as I like having the weeks in a vertical format rather than horizontal. Check out both through the link above and make sure you enter the contest at the bottom to win one of your very own!
2. Work Out Outfit
This one makes me laugh because my husband was like, “Really? You wouldn’t take that the wrong way?” Heck no! Most of us have the goal of being healthier regardless of our current state and New Year’s resolutions only emphasize our desire to reach that goal. It’s definitely a goal of mine always and heading into 2017 and I’d feel better doing it if I had at least one outfit that fit well and made me feel good. It’s like a silver lining, right? Sure I am out of shape, sure my muscles are sore and achy and I feel like I’m going to die, but at least I look and feel good while doing it! Fabletics is offering a $15 special for your first outfit or leggings 2 for $24. They’re cute, flattering and stylish!
3. Something Sentimental
I’m a sucker for crafty and handmade gifts, but let’s face it, Pinterest can only help so much, you actually have to be able to make it or find someone to make it for you. Cards, notes, coupon books, breakfast in bed…the possibilities are endless. If you aren’t keen on the whole make-your-own item, you can find something special from places like Precious Moments. Finding the perfect figurine to celebrate or remember a special occasion or event will tug on the heartstrings of almost anyone.
4. Spa Set & Time
I can ask everyone in the house if they need anything and take care of it all, but without fail, every time they hear the bathroom door close or the shower start, it’s “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!” I laugh so hard and apologize to my mom frequently. So while I first just had “Spa Set” as the gift idea, I changed it to make sure you find a way to give Mom some time to enjoy it, too. Again you can make this gift, or find lots of ideas and shops online, but if they’re a Disney fan like me, they’ll love this.
I usually end up with a couple of small bottles of shampoo and conditioner at home after our Disney vacations and every once in awhile I use them for that little burst of magic. The scent instantly takes me back to my happy place and my heart overflows with memories and emotions from our last adventure. I have pretty long hair now and never take many, so it was a rare experience, until I found I could purchase my favorite Disney products online for just such occasions. You can now give the gift of relaxation and pixie-dust, but make sure you give her some time to enjoy it!
These ideas are perfect gifts for mom for the holidays, or anytime!
