Dole At-Home Resources
Being a mom is a tough job on any given day, but it seems extra tough given our current circumstances. On top of our regular work and household duties, we are now in charge of planning and cooking three meals a day plus snacks, teaching, and keeping the kids entertained when those dreaded “I’m bored” moments hit. We need all the assistance we can get, especially when feeling cut off from the rest of the world. I’m so happy to partner with The Dole Food Company to showcase how Dole is working hard to help with all of these things. They’ve created a new full of information to help educate, entertain and even assist in answering the dreaded question, “What’s for dinner?”
One Site Planning
I’m all about one-stop shopping to save time and resources, but what about one-stop planning? With so many responsibilities it’s hard not to spend all day searching for recipes, fun things to make with the kids, activity pages and nutritional or educational material. Save yourself some much needed “me time” with a visit to only one site. Here you’ll find “nutrition-based, relevant information and family-friendly activities” to help ease your stress and planning with Dole At-Home Resources. Let me walk you through a few of my favorites!
Help Support Your Immunity
I know one of the biggest stressors at the back of my mom-brain right now is keeping my family safe and healthy. For me, it’s important that nutrition be key in the meals that I’m making. Luckily, you’ll find a whole section of articles on the Dole At-Home Resources site that offer research and information on healthy eating. The articles update weekly, but my current favorite article is on the “Benefits of Garlic.” I love garlic and hey, garlic breath doubles as a great way to promote a little social distancing! Along with these helpful articles, Dole offers additional information on healthy eating, recipe and food prep hacks, and cookbooks such as:
- Dole Healthy Eating Toolkit
- Fruit & Vegetable Prep Hacks
- Digital Cooking Library
- Health Resources For Families
Dole’s Recipe Corner
Once you know what you want to cook with you have to go find a recipe, right? Dole has that covered too! The Recipe Corner offers easy recipes, recipes you can freeze for later, kid’s kitchen ideas, and my personal favorite, Disney in the Kitchen. Here you’ll find the adorable (and delicious) Lion Club Lunch, which includes two cloves of that beneficial garlic.
Kids Activities
While you’re spending a little time meal planning, check out the kids activities for great ways to keep your little ones busy.
There are crossword puzzles, activity sheets, and coloring pages. My kids like Bobby Banana and his fruit and veggie friends. They often color at the table while I’m cooking dinner and we talk about the day.
What’s Your Favorite?
Are you making Tatooine Blue Milk? Or perhaps a Dole Sunrise Smoothie? Do your kids like coloring or creating the garden markers for this year’s crops? I’d love for you to share how you’re using the Dole At-Home Resources page while you’re homebound with the family.
