Disney Drink Of The Day - Island Moon-Shine

Disney Drink Of The Day: Big Island Iced Tea

April 3, 2015 By //  by Lauren 4 Comments

Big Island Tea - Walt Disney World Resort Drinks

With the Grand Opening of Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, I wanted to carry on the island theme, but since I haven’t been able to visit the new Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto and try their tasty concoctions, I stuck with this poolside classic as today’s Disney Drink Of The Day.

The Big Island Iced Tea is a refreshing combination of Pau Maui Handmade Vodka, Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum, Hendrick’s, Cointreau, Sweet and Sour and a splash of Coca-Cola. This drink is called “Big Island” for a reason–it delivers a big punch! Pau Maui Hawaiian Vodka is made of ingredients only “born” on the Island and is distilled from the Maui Gold Pineapple. It adds a delightful crispness to the drink. Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum is produced by none other than the rock legend, Sammy Hagar. With the success of his Beach Bar & Grill locations, he thought, why not make a quality rum and where better to produce it than Maui? The Hawaiian sugar cane provides just the right sweetness to the rum.

This drink is one of my favorites for sipping during a hot, Floridian day. Extra “rocks” and a squeeze of fresh lemon make it the practically perfect addition to your relaxing afternoon.

Huli Pau!
