When Is The Best Time To Visit Great Wolf Lodge?

March 14, 2019 By //  by Lauren Leave a Comment

The first question people usually ask me when they are planning their Great Wolf Lodge vacation is, “When is the best time to visit?” Sometimes it’s because they are looking for the best price, sometimes they want to beat the crowds, but most of the time it’s because they can’t choose which special event to attend.

Special Celebrations

If you didn’t already know, Great Wolf Lodge offers nearly a full year of special celebrations. First up, every spring they offer Spring-A-Palooza, followed by the Howl-O-Ween fall fun and finishing off the year with the festive Snowland. We’ve had the chance to experience each and here are the things we love about them (other than just collecting the special themed wolf ears.)

Spring-A-Palooza

Spring in Colorado is still usually a little cold and snowy, so the warm indoor water park definitely calls our name. Great Wolf Lodge goes all out with fresh spring decorations, activities and events. One of our favorite experiences is the Bubble Dance Party that takes place daily. We also adore the spring crafts like decorating your own tea cup.

Howl-O-Ween

Don’t worry, there’s nothing scary about this special event and your little ones will love it. It’s tough to say, but I think this may be their favorite time to visit. There is nightly, I repeat NIGHTLY trick-or-treating and what kid wouldn’t love that?! You can also find a scavenger hunt, Halloween crafts and games and the decorations are incredible!

Snowland

I love Christmas, so this is probably my favorite time to visit. It’s made even sweeter at Great Wolf Lodge with the addition of a giant, life-sized ginger bread house in the lobby. It smells amazing and you’re able to make dinner reservations to eat inside of it! We did this just this year and it was so cool. The food, from Barnwood, was incredible and it was just such a festive, family time. The decorations continue through the rest of the resort and Santa himself even makes appearances around his busy schedule to visit with kids for those last minute requests.

So When Should You Visit?

I recommend checking for deals around these events to see what fits best into your budget. Make sure you create a My Great Wolf account for the best deals and to receive emails about these events and any specials. If you can only choose one, personally I’d say visit during Snowland, but my kiddos would enthusiastically vote for Howl-O-Ween.
