Summer camping season is here! Woohoo! Camping trips and not, during the summer I am always looking for fun ways to keep the kids engaged outside. Bonus points if it’s something educational or bettering the environment. This cute, Litter Clean Up Scavenger Hunt does both!

We all have the ideas of what our summers will look like at the beginning, even if they don’t always end up like that. Trying to get unplugged and outside as often as possible is always on my list–although with work and such it doesn’t always happen as often as I’d like. Those lucky days we do go out, I love to have a plan, engaging activity or fun thing planned to encourage us all to have fun together. They don’t have to be expensive! We get chalk, bubbles and games from the dollar store. We look for local guided nature hikes and activities. Or, I search the internet for fun, outdoor printable activities like this one!

Litter Clean Up Scavenger Hunt

As I said, if I can find a “quietly” educational (the kids don’t like to know they’re learning in the summer. LOL!) or something that helps or betters the people or environment around us, I am all for it. This scavenger hunt is easy to complete on your family’s next camping trip, hike, park visit or even walk around the neighborhood.

Make sure to bring gloves and a bag and cross the items off as you find them. Once you get home, you can add to the activity by sorting the items and coloring the circle or circling the items with the corresponding color.
