Hopefully, you were able to stay up and watch the exciting announcements regarding the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration. While 200 lucky Disney Parks Blog readers were able to be there in person, the rest of us were glued to Twitter following the hashtag #Disneyland60, or following along post updates by Disney Parks own: Communications Manager, Shawn Slater and Social Media Director, Erin Glover. After watching the magic unfold, I am buzzing with glee –much like a kid who had one too many Mickey Rice Crispy Treats! Disneyland Resort will definitely become the “it” place to be this summer with these incredible and beautiful event additions.
First, there will be a brand new “World of Color” show: “World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney.” The new show will honor Walt Disney’s legacy and will surely be especially touching to any of us who have listened to his advice and followed our dreams. With Walt’s closest pal, Mickey Mouse, as host, I’m sure we can guarantee a heartfelt trip down Disney Memory Lane.
The next announcement of the night was about a new parade also starting May 22. “Paint the Night” looks spectacular. It’s glowing, neon floats and performers will light up Main Street, U.S.A. with fun displays from some of your favorite Disney friends. Join pals from Monsters Inc., Toy Story, Cars, Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, Frozen and more!
The special event wrapped up with information regarding the new “Disneyland Forever” Fireworks Spectacular! This sparkling show will be like no other Disney firework display. With fireworks, projections and more, Guests will certainly feel surrounded by magic. The show even boasts two original songs written by the Disney musical icon and legend, Richard Sherman!
And, if that wasn’t enough, the beautiful birthday girl, Erin Glover, capped the evening off by showcasing the dazzling diamond transformation that will also debut on May 22. Sleeping Beauty Castle and Carthay Circle Theater will each get a little extra bling for the festivities and both parks will be sparkling with extra beauty and magic.
Stunning. Simply stunning. It’s like every little kid’s Fairy Tale location finally found her Fairy Godmother and is now dressed for the ball.
So, with these announcements, I hope you are now as excited as I am. While Walt Disney World Resort fills my heart with the family memories we have made over the years, Disneyland Resort is Walt’s park. It is the beginning of the journey, the dream. The spark of imagination felt sitting on a park bench one day which led to so much happiness for so many. Disneyland is magical, in fact Disneyland is magic and it only takes one step inside to feel it. The question isn’t if I’ll go to the ball, it’s when, and I hope I will see you there.

I am really looking forward to the new Paint the Night parade. I LOVE nighttime parades and the Main Street Electrical parade was my favorite. I bet the music is going to be awesome.

Haha! Thank you, I felt a little out of place as it had been several years since I had been, but it was incredible. If you need any other tips or advice, just let me know!
