The 2015 Walt Disney Pictures movie season has officially started! Woohoo! Strange Magic, the new animated film from Lucasfilm Ltd., opens today and I am extremely excited to see it. From the mind of George Lucas, Strange Magic is a fairy-tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” I can’t wait to watch the cute, mythical forest creatures sing and dance their way through some of my favorite tunes as they battle for a magic potion.
Just last week, my friend Dawn Cullo (iamamommynerd.com) had the honor of visiting Skywalker Ranch and interviewing Elijah Kelley (Sunny) and the Master himself, George Lucas! Her Q&A post with Mr. Kelley is wonderful and shares insights about his journey to becoming a voice-over actor. Likewise, her interview session with Mr. Lucas is extremely fascinating. I find it interesting that work on this project started 15-years-ago and was touched by his personal story on life and love and what the theme of this movie means to him.
In anticipation of seeing the movie this weekend, my kids and I will definitely be putting these Free Strange Magic Activity Sheets to good use. I know they will love putting on their “Sunny Hats,” playing the games and even creating a Magic Fairy Jar. Our weekend will be filled with Magic, will yours?
