The Colorado Springs Marriott

A Closer Look at the Colorado Springs Marriott – Stay & Review

May 12, 2015 By //  by Lauren 2 Comments

The Colorado Springs Marriott

Earlier this year, my hubby and I stayed at the Colorado Springs Marriott  for a quick getaway (1-night to be exact.) The response to our short review was incredible and we had a great time! This time around, I partnered with the Marriott and was given a fantastic rate and a few other perks in order to write a more in-depth review and share our honest opinion about this location. (For more information, please view my disclosures page.)

Through email, phone calls and face-to-face interactions, I can’t say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of their staff. In all the years we have stayed at this location, I have never met a rude employee. From check-in to check-out you always feel welcome and invited. We were again placed in a mountain-view Junior Suite and these rooms are beautiful. I live here. I see our magnificent mountains everyday, but the panoramic views from the picture windows at this hotel make them especially stunning.

After setting our stuff down in our room, we decided to head to Zebulon’s Grille & Tequileria for dinner and drinks. Although we usually get breakfast, I hadn’t tried dinner in a few years and we thought it would be nice to not have to drive anywhere. Zebulons Grille and TequilleriaThey have a fun Colorado-Inspired cocktail menu with signature drinks like the Cock-Eyed Liz and the Rocky Mountain Float. Since my mom calls me Liz or Lizzard, I had to order that one. It was an interesting combination of vodka, cointreau and sweet and sour, but after adding a splash of cranberry, I really enjoyed it.Cock-Eyed Liz Cocktail We ordered the Crab Cakes as an appetizer and were pleasantly surprised in their quality even all the way out here in Colorado. The hubby ordered the Barbecue Pizza which was very good. I ordered the Southwest Green Chile Burger and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked, thick and juicy, and amazing. We loved how each ingredient complimented one another. This is by far one of the best burgers I have EVER tasted and the fries were perfect too. The restaurant really offers some great dishes, including a few vegetarian options and would be a great place to eat during your stay or to check out anytime as a local.Southwest Green Chile Burger

After dinner we decided to visit the pool, hot tub and sauna. If I had to choose one area of the hotel that could use a little work, this would be it. The gym is great and I love the fact that there are machines looking out over the pool if you want to get a run in and still be able to watch your older kids swim. The sauna is also wonderful. It has a temperature setting and plenty of seating. The pool and hot tub looked clean and were set at comfortable temperatures. There were several kids splashing around and having a great time. I definitely think the area serves its purpose, but the overall condition of the room just doesn’t match the incredible quality found throughout the rest of the hotel. It could definitely stand to be updated.

We returned to the room after a quick splash and rest in the sauna. For breakfast we decided to pre-order room service on the form found in our room. You are able to select the items you want and a delivery time (in 15-minute increments) and simply hang it on the outside of your door before midnight. Breakfast was as delicious as dinner and such a great start to the morning. Room service is the one luxury I really adore, especially at breakfast. Another great part of check-out day at the Colorado Springs Marriott is that check-out isn’t until noon. I’m not a very good morning person and love the flexibility to sleep in, eat breakfast, shower, pack and saunter out at my own speed without ever feeling rushed or in a hurry to leave. It makes every last moment of the stay enjoyable.

Although the Marriott was incredibly accommodating and worked with us in order to provide a more detailed review this time around, we have stayed at the hotel several times over the years and I have always recommended it. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and book a stay and see for yourself what makes this hotel stand out above the rest.

Amen to that! I know room service is pricey, I know there are a ton of crazy charges added to the bill for no reason other than my lazy butt wants to stay in bed and they are worth every penny. Lol
