Thank you, I’ve missed you…
If your summer was anything like mine, well then you probably weren’t able to check-in on your favorite blogs, vlogs and social media friends as much as you had hoped. I shudder looking at my blog post timeline, but know deep down what matters are the memories made and not the page views. It’s been a busy summer full of adventures and unplanned surprises, so if you’re still here with me wondering where the heck I’ve been and what’s going on…THANK YOU! I’ve missed writing, missed you all and I’m happy to be back and share a little of where I’ve been and what’s new.
High Hopes
I had high hopes going into this summer to continue posting often and keeping the Motherhood & Beyond community active and thriving. I planned, set goals, scheduled…did all the right things and then bam! Life came in like a summer breeze through an open screen and blew it all away. The beginning of the summer went pretty well, but then I began to struggle. I’d get up early or stay up late trying to find sometime to get back to the blog and on the rare occasion I’d make it in front of my computer I would sit there with that darned writer’s block. Like poor Jack, I just couldn’t find a way on that door and Motherhood & Beyond became colder and colder.
Make Each Day Count
As dear Jack said in Titanic, “I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You don’t know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you… to make each day count,” and that’s exactly what I tried to do this summer. Sure having the kids home made a difference in my time management, but when given the time to jump on the computer or head outside with them, I chose the adventure. When I did sit down in front of the computer I spent my time helping others plan their magic vacations, catching up with my favorite blogs and starting up our own company. “Ber” Months Are My Favorite
Although we had a wonderful summer, I love fall and I am so ready for the autumn months. (I’ll skip those Pumpkin Spice Lattes and go straight to the Peppermint Mocha ones though.) I miss the kids home, but I’m excited to be writing again. When I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a Disney Parks Moms Panelist, answering Guest questions was my reprieve from a busy day. Luckily, writing is a close second. This fall is sure to bring great family adventures, stories and fun. I’m thrilled to have you all join us. Thank you for bearing through a crazy summer with me. I hope to hear from and catch up with all of you soon!
Quick Family Update:
Patrick and I just recently celebrated our 8th anniversary with a parents-only camping trip. It was a little rainy, but incredible.
Also, we recently became parents to a teenager (EEK!) We celebrated with a surprise, whirlwind trip to Walt Disney World Resort filled with big-kid thrills and adventures.
We also have a first grader and a pre-schooler! Our pup Copper is doing tremendously after his huge surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his side. Our kitties, Wyatt and Remy are also doing just great.
Enough about us, I’d love to hear how you all are doing?
