The Broadmoor Resort – A Perfect Colorado Vacation Location

As a little girl, The Broadmoor was always the place we visited with family and to celebrate special occasions. I remember putting on my best dress and feeling so grown-up heading to dinner at The Tavern. The garden room (Le Jardin) was like my “Secret Garden,” but my brother’s favorite was to dine just inside at the funky shaped table right across from the Chefs and watch the masters at work.  When the Colorado Jazz Party was held at the Resort, my grandparents would take us to stay for a few days and it quickly became one of my favorite childhood memories. I loved feeling like a princess and enjoying all of the time we spent together. After listening to the music we would take a dip in the pool, walk around the lake, or indulge in some ice cream. These fond memories have encouraged me to share this gem with my family and I can’t wait for our next adventure this summer.

The Broadmoor Resort has definitely changed throughout the years. I remember going to the Drug Store or getting gas in one of the city’s last full-service locations, but now The Broadmoor is home to over 25 shops and restaurants and boasts several accommodation options. Whether you stay in the Main Resort, The Cottages, The Brownstones or even venture on a Wilderness Experience, there is truly something for everyone. Dinning is no different. The Tavern, now known as La Taverne, is still a favorite restaurant to Guests, but the Resort offers so many more choices now like Natural Epicurean –a more casual eatery with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Although The Broadmoor prides itself on its luxury and its award-winning abilities, it is much more sophisticated than stuffy and a place where young families and small children are not only welcome, but will find plenty to experience together. The Resort even welcomes your family pet!
