Disney Countdown Printable With Slinky Dog

Woohoo! Whether you’re counting down to your next Disney vacation, the end of school or just celebrating the opening of the brand new Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog is ready to help. This adorable Disney Countdown Printable is a fun way to keep track of your next milestone.

I previously shared why my family is particularly excited about the new Toy Story Land opening next month at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  The movies have long had a special meaning to us and we can’t wait to explore with Andy’s toys on our next adventure “home.” In the meantime, we’re simply celebrating the Grand Opening with help from everyone’s favorite pup, Slinky Dog. Don’t worry, Pluto, we can have more than one man’s best friend!

Disney Countdown Printable with Slinky Dog

What you’ll need:

Scissors

Tape

Colored pencils/markers/crayons

Construction paper

Once you’ve collected the materials, you’ll find the link to download and print the Slinky Dog printable below. Go ahead, print him out and have fun coloring him in.

Next, you’ll need to carefully cut him out. (Kids, make sure you ask a grown-up to help you with this step!)

You’ll then want to also cut the construction paper into strips to make a paper chain with. Lay the paper horizontally and cut strips about 1″ wide.  Cut as many strips as days you’ll need, plus two–one for his head and tail.

After cutting your strips, make a circle with one and tape the end. Then roll another piece of tape and secure the ring to the back of Slinky Dog’s head.

Continue linking the paper rings together, taping the ends, to create your paper chain.

Once you have added all your links, tape Slinky Dog’s tail to another ring (like you did his head.) It’s important to only tape this piece so you are able to move his tail down the chain as you remove links. Depending on how long your countdown is, you may have to use another piece of tape as your countdown continues.

You should now have an adorable Disney Countdown with Slinky Dog complete. Display it somewhere fun and each day remove a ring. As your countdown grows smaller so will Slinky’s rings. You’ll need to remove his tail end, pull off the last ring and re-stick his tail to the new last ring.
