This week’s gift guide features one of my family’s favorite brands, Seedling. They create fun craft kits and innovative toys inspiring kids to be creative and engage in open-ended play. I was thrilled to learn about their brand new partnership with Disney and the 15-piece collection of Disney inspired kits.

The Lion King Inspired Sets

My little guy loves The Lion King and the new The Lion Guard series on Disney Junior, so I knew these Seedling Disney-Inspired kits would be perfect for inspiring his inner roar. We were given the opportunity to review Timon and Pumbaa’s Grub Dig and The Circle Of Life Drum.

First, the “Grub Dig.” With this kit you “dig” your way through a block of chalk-like-plaster shaped like a tree trunk to find pieces of a creepy, crawly bug to then assemble together. Aided with a wooden chisel, a paintbrush and a “bug guide,” you dig, scrape, and excavate into the piece looking for buggy treasure. It’s extremely dusty, pretty messy and everything my little boy likes.  He needed help often and we’d clean up frequently to keep the dust level down, but he had a blast doing it.

The Circle Of Life Drum turned out to be a favorite for both my son and my daughter. They really enjoyed painting their own designs on the sides of the drum using the included stencils. I loved that this kit really kept their attention. They were both very focused and excited and it turned out adorably creative.

 

Alice in Wonderland – Design Your Own Tea Party Set

My little princess adores tea parties, so I knew this Seedling Disney-inspired kit would be perfect for her. Not only does the kit provide a new tea set (perfect for her small hands,) but it also allows her to create a custom, one-of-a-kind set, sure to be her new favorite.

She had such a wonderful time designing her unique pieces and painting her dream right onto the ceramic cups, saucers and tea pot. Once complete, an adult just needs to bake them for a few minutes in a warm oven and the decorations will stay forever. It’s fun to play tea party with a set she decorated and even more fun to watch the happiness in her eyes.

Disney Princess Tea Parties are one of our favorite at-home play activities. We routinely sit around her small table sipping fake tea and eating fake pastries, talking about her stuffed-animal guests and her big princess dreams and we want to share it with you.
