Don’t get me wrong, I love hosting holiday dinners. Truly! There’s something almost magical about a house filled with delicious scents and the warmth of friends and family. But, I can’t say that in case of a cooking catastrophe, I haven’t at least looked around at what restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving.
Accidents aside, if you’re looking to keep the mess to a minimum, or have unexpected guests plan a visit, these restaurants will be serving scrumptious Thanksgiving Day options. Just make sure to tip your server with a little extra gratitude!
Summit Interquest
Eat, drink and enjoy a little healthy family bowling competition. But wait, there’s more! Need a few extra beds for those out of town visitors? Summit Interquest is hosting an All-Night Youth Lock-In Party Thanksgiving night. From midnight to 6:00AM, kids ages 11 -15 can enjoy plenty of Cosmic Bowling, games, music, dancing, food and fun, all in a safe, adult-supervised environment. You must purchase your event package ahead of time, ranging between $29.99 – $49.99 per person.
Cheyenne Mountain Resort
Perhaps a good brunch is what you’re looking for so you can start planning your Black Friday shopping early? Cheyenne Mountain Resort has a delicious Sunday brunch and I’m sure their special Thanksgiving Brunch will be no different. It’s available from 10:00 – 5:00 and boasts menu items such as Sage-Apple-Cider Brined Turkey, Cherrywood Smoked Prime Rib, Cranberry Orange French Toast and bottomless mimosas. Prices are $63 for adults, $22 for children 6-10 and under 5 free. Again, reservations are required! Check out the full menu.
MacKenzie’s Chop House
A downtown staple, MacKenzie’s Chop House, will be serving turkey and the traditional sides on Thanksgiving from noon to 7:00PM. Reservations strongly recommended.
Cracker Barrel
Delicious home-style meals are always found here, but Thanksgiving you can find a special treat with their Turkey ‘n’ Dressing Meal. It comes with Gravy, a sampling of Sugar Cured Ham, Sweet Potato Casserole with pecans, Cranberry Relish, choice of country side, Buttermilk Biscuits or Corn Muffins, your choice of refillable beverage* and a tasty slice of Pumpkin Pie. Better have those “eatin’ pants” ready! Open normal business hours, but the Thanksgiving meal is only available after 11:00AM.
Non-Traditional Options:
If turkey and fixin’s isn’t your favorite, you can find German cuisine at Edelweiss Restaurant from 11:00AM – 8:00PM. Perhaps barbecue from Front Range Barbecue (open until 6:00PM) is what you desire? Maybe, Creole cooking suits your craving found at Springs Orleans from 10:00AM – 2:00PM.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m sure I’ve left at least a few off of this list, so please let me know. Regardless of where you go, or what you eat, I wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving.
