Post updated 04/15/2016, originally published 7/25/2014 – Due to the ever-changing Disney Parks, some of our favorite locations have been removed for new projects. We will miss them, but luckily, we can always find new favorites.
Like many, when it comes to vacationing I like to enjoy myself and indulge in delicious adult beverages here and there — especially on Walt Disney World vacations! There are so many tantalizing options and every frosty-cold concoction looks extra scrumptious in the Florida heat and humidity. Just when I go to take that first mouth-watering sip, I peer over the side of my glass and see three sets of adorable puppy-eyed children all yearning for a refreshing drink. As I am forced to back track on every lesson I have taught them about sharing and explain this is all for me, I quickly try to find the closest treat to feed their hungry eyes and my guilty heart. Now when we visit, we have learned which places offer yummy treats for me and the hubby and tasty alternatives for our three little vacationers. Here are our favorite in-park locations to stop for a delightful drink. (Please be aware drink selections and menu items are subject to availability and can change at any time.)
5.Catalina Eddie’s, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Sunset Boulevard
Let’s be honest. Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or whatever its new name is going to be, will be incredible soon and we will all rejoice and be happy as we skip our way through Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land. I can’t wait, and as much as I miss some of the classics, like the original Backlot Tour, I know change is good. In the meantime, the park is losing a little (or lot) of its zest, but you can still find great places to snack and drink and fun attractions. Catalina Eddie’s is one of those places. I really enjoy the Beso del Sol Sangria offered throughout Disney property and they offer it here. They also offer a tasty Odwalla Strawberry Lemonade Slushy perfect for the kids. If you’re hungry, their Caesar salad and flatbread options are great, and don’t forget about dessert!
4. Yak & Yeti – Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Asia
Again at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, just a few steps away, you can find another one of our favorites. This wonderful location has tasty food treats as well as drinkable delicacies. My kids love the Frozen Lemonade and I adore the Yak Attack, a blend of Mango Daiquiri, Bacardi Light Rum and Wildberry flavors. My husband is happy sipping on one of the beer choices, like the smooth Safari Amber.
3. Dawa Bar – Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Africa
Beer drinkers can find the elusive Safari Amber or Tusker Lager here, but they offer incredible mixed specialties as well. Their trio of Bloody Marys all offer delicious and unique flavors and the Watermelon Mimosa is a refreshing way to cool off on a warm day. They Dawa Bar is a full bar, so they are able to whip up many classic non-alcoholic concoctions for youngsters, like a Pina Colada, or they have Tangerine Lemonade and Pagani Punch to give a try.
2. L’Artisan des Glaces – Epcot, World Showcase – France
While this one doesn’t quite constitute as a drink for my youngsters, it is by far one of their favorite treats and therefore had to make the list. They just love getting a scoop or two of ice cream while my husband and I share the Ice Cream Martini. (Yep, you heard right!) Two scoops of ice cream with a shot of Grand Marnier, Whipped Cream Vodka or Rum. Absolutely divine!
1. La Cantina de San Angel – Epcot, World Showcase – Mexico

Mexico is one of my favorite pavilions. Whether it is romantic dinners at San Angel Inn Restaurante or tequila tasting at La Cava del Tequila or even just admiring the serene lighting and gorgeous Mayan pyramid, there is something about this showcase pavilion that really draws me in. La Cantina de San Angel offers a flavorsome Lime Pomegranate Frozen Tequila Mojito that will have your taste buds doing the Macarena in your mouth! While enjoying our frozen splendor, my kids love the Paletas. These traditional fruit popsicles are wonderful on a warm day and come in a variety of flavors: Watermelon, Mango, Lime and Coconut.
Definitely the margaritas in the Mexican pavilion!!!
You’re leading me to ALL of these places, right?!?
Of course! Cheers!
