After visiting the Outer Rim on our last vacation, I may just have to update my list of the Top Resort Lounges at Walt Disney World Resort. This lounge, tucked away behind the entrance of the famed Chef Mickey’s, was wonderful. The seating was welcoming, the views were great and we loved watching the monorail cruise by every few minutes. On top of the inviting atmosphere, our waitress was very friendly and the cocktail menu was outstanding.
I am much like little kid in the sense that I always seem to gravitate towards shiny, sparkly and glowing objects, so I went right for the Blue “Glow-tini.” It’s definitely one of those drinks you walk by and go, “Ooh, I want that!” The best part is, this Disney Drink Of The Day tastes as good as it looks. The Blue “Glow-tini” is a combination of Skky Infusions Citrus Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Blue Curacao and pineapple juice. All shaken with ice and served in a martini glass, complete with sugared rim and souvenir Glow Cube. It is delicious and very fun to drink.
For a couple of extra bucks we were even able to buy extra Glow Cubes so they could make a special “fancy drink” for the kiddos. My oldest asked to write a post to tell you all about it, but I’ll give you a sneak peak. Looks fun, right?
You can find the Blue “Glow-tini” at various locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, but I definitely recommend making a stop at the Outer Rim lounge. It is a great way to end your evening if you’re staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort or a nice stop even if you’re just visiting. For us, it was the perfect place to grab a drink before we went on the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage (another experience I highly recommend.)
